Beauty Resolutions

For all your beauty advice…

With the new year right around the corner, most of us start thinking about things we resolve to change in the coming year. Whether it’s personally or professionally, we all have changes we want to make, bad habits we want to kick, and goals to achieve. An article I came across recently in a magazine was titled “Beauty Resolutions” and it talked about new products that will be coming up in the new year, and it got me thinking about my beauty resolutions. Habits I want to break, lipglosses I want to finish, etc.

Beauty Resolution #1: I will wash my hair less. I know some people may read that and think “gross”, but that doesn’t mean I won’t shower every day, it just means I will give my hair a break at least once a week from shampooing. I fell in love with dry shampoo this past year, so I will put it to use more often and keep the natural oils on my hair.

Beauty Resolution #2: I will take better care of my nails. Between doing hair, playing in makeup, and typing all the time, my nails have really suffered this past year, and in the coming year, I will treat them better and give myself a manicure once a week.

Beauty Resolution #3: I will wash my face every single day regardless of how tired I am. I will admit, this is a struggle for me at the end of the day, and if I am going to preach the importance of cleansing every night to people, then I need to make sure I’m doing it. For all of you that argue that you’re too tired at the end of the day…trust me, I get it. But, I also hate that my skin suffers when I do this, so I will wash every night.

Beauty Resolution #5: I will not touch a blemish until it is absolutely ready to be touched. Attacking blemishes prematurely can result in scarring, spreading and creating more blemishes, and it just doesn’t look pretty.

Beauty Resolution #6: I will treat my skin, and/or, my  body to a facial or a massage at least once every 3 months. To some that’s like nothing, but I rarely indulge in that, and it’s time I do.

Beauty Resolution #7: I will not buy another shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hair spray or fragrance until I finish at least one bottle of what I already have. Lipgloss, lipstick, eyeshadow and nail polish are exempt from this resolution. I can’t make that commitment.

Beauty Resolution #8: I will finally make my husband understand why I need 2 different bars of soap in the shower, why I need to use 3 different types of body lotion, and why it is crucial that I own every color of eyeshadow and lipgloss ever made. If I can make this resolution come true, I will have success!

Beauty Resolution #9: I will continue to write about all products, old and new, and I will continue to give you my advice and suggestions!

Ok, what are your beauty resolutions for the new year? Can’t wait to hear!
